What is APEDA Registration cum Allocation Certificate (RCAC) ?

APEDA, a governmental body in India, oversees the exportation of agricultural products from the country. The APEDA Registration cum Allocation Certificate, also referred to as APEDA RCAC, is a certification issued to member exporters of basmati rice from India in accordance with foreign trade agreement guidelines.

According to regulations, both merchant exporters and manufacturer exporters are obligated to obtain a Registration cum Allocation Certificate for each export transaction they engage in. This certificate validates registration with the relevant export promotion council and must be furnished to customs authorities during shipment.

This requirement is implemented to ensure proper monitoring and recording of all export activities. Non-compliance can lead to penalties and legal repercussions for exporters. Therefore, adherence to this regulation is crucial to prevent potential issues or delays in export transactions.
